I'm pretty new to eBay but sold several things successfully. Then I sold to a dishonest buyer, paying more to ship than I had thought I would. The buyer said it was perfect but didn't fit (they were shorter than my desciption specified) and wanted to return it for full refund. I suggested they sell it to second bidder who still wanted it but they refused, immediately filed a complaint with eBay, claiming the item didn't match my description and that I hadn't tried to work it out with them. My description was complete and perfect, as were my photos. I pointed that out to eBay and they simply ignored my statement. In follow up emails, neither the liar buyer nor eBay could mention any way the item did not precisely fit my description and photos. I tried to get to the eBay subervisor but same thing - screw you seller!

eBay's policy regarding buyers includes this: You must be honest and have good intentions when you participate (or initiate) any resolution process.
Attempts to manipulate these processes are prohibited and can have serious consequences.

eBay's policy also says: A good faith dispute does not exist if you improperly claim that the seller has not fulfilled the transaction, if you claim you never received an item when in fact you did, or if you claim the item was different from the item description but the seller can prove otherwise. Moreover, a good faith dispute does not include buyer's remorse (that is, the item delivered was as described in the item description, but you no longer want the item regardless of the reason).

I learned a lesson about dealing with eBay - they ignore their own policy and have no interest in honestly settling disputes. They only want to get the problem out of their hair and screw whoever was wronged.
